Frame design
Designed for life
Designed for life
Foundations and framework. These are the bones of your house. The framework gives your build the structure and stability needed to last a lifetime.
Our designers will help you design a stunning oak frame for your home. Using the latest software programs ensures every joint in your home is configured for a perfectly precise fit.
Our Frame Designers themselves have the right foundations. Every trainee spends time in our workshop. They also spend time on-site during their induction to see how oak frames come together in the real world. This gives them a complete understanding enabling them to take your frame from concept to creation.
How it all works
How it all works
Your frame designer will meet you on-site to talk about what you can expect from the process. They'll then communicate at every stage of this design process to ensure you’re completely happy with your oak frame.
Once finalised, we’ll send you copies of your design. Then, we’ll invite you to our offices in Herefordshire. This gives you the chance to ‘walk through’ visuals of your frame. Experience tells us you’ll really enjoy seeing your 3D model on-screen. It makes your build seem a lot more real. Once you approve this design, your frame will be jointed and passed on for final checking with another designer.
Your drawings will then be sent to an independent Structural Engineer who will review them for Building Control. Your designer will then convert your drawings into machine files and create another set of drawings for our workshop team. At the same time, a timber-cutting list will be produced and sent to the sawmill. From here, what you once only imagined becomes a timber-framed reality.
Green oak
Green oak
We only choose the highest quality green oak for your home, extension or outbuilding as it ages beautifully and gains more and more character over time.
Green oak also is a popular choice due to its sustainable credentials. Everyone is becoming more aware of environmental issues and most of our clients want to build as sustainably as possible.
Once you have finished building your oak frame living space, you’ll notice the oak will shrink slightly as it dries out. This method of construction means your frame will become stronger over time. What this means for you is peace of mind for a lifetime.
